Lloyd's Market Association (the LMA), located in the heart of the Lloyd's Building in the City of London, is the representative voice of the Lloyd's underwriting community. Every Lloyd's Managing Agency is a member of the LMA.

The LMA Marine Committee oversees and coordinates the activities of each of the Joint sector committees on behalf of the LMA. It works closely with the IUA Marine Technical Committee to identify projects and topics within the marine sector which will require support and, where necessary, agrees and allocates budgets for work to be carried out.

As the senior Marine Committee at the LMA it has representation on the LMA�s Underwriting Committee. This allows marine participation on discussion of market wide initiatives and developments alongside the other sector representatives from the Market.

Structure

The Committee membership comprises six elected members, plus the senior Lloyd�s representative on each of the Joint Marine Committees.

Managing Agencies writing Marine business are able to nominate a marine representative who will act as the central point of contact for general marine related items from the LMA. This individual is also eligible for the annual election to the Marine Committee.
