The Mersey Partnership

Since 1993 The Mersey Partnership (TMP) has been at the very heart of the regeneration of Merseyside, providing the Liverpool City Region with one body to speak on its behalf, acting increasingly as the catalyst for change and pressing home the Merseyside advantage as a location for inward investment.

In our role as Merseyside's Sub Regional Partnership, we have extended our strategic responsibilities across the region's six local authority areas, adding to our existing remit in economic development, inward investment and tourism. As the Regional Tourist Board TMP is also responsible for marketing Liverpool and Merseyside as a tourist and conference destination, working closely with the region's districts to promote those areas and their attractions as destinations in their own right.

Widely recognised as a role model for partnerships, throughout the UK and beyond, we represent nearly 500 businesses across the Liverpool City Region including manufacturing and trading companies, six local authorities, government agencies, universities, media organisations, professional agencies, tourism and conference businesses - all working together for the future economic growth of Merseyside.

Together, we are succeeding in our mission to promote the Liverpool City Region as a place in which to invest, live, work and visit. What We Do Our strategic goal is to encourage economic growth through building a positive image of the Liverpool City Region that will attract more visitors to the area and at the same time build confidence among those already living, working and investing in the region.

The members of The Mersey Partnership reflect the broad and diverse activities which are the trademark of Merseyside's strong and vibrant economy.

Household names like Jaguar, Littlewoods, O2 and Pilkington are among the organisations that form The Mersey Partnership.

Members, large and small, play an important and significant role in supporting and developing The Mersey Partnership's activities in its three core areas:

Economic Development - coordinating Merseyside's economic development activity through the Liverpool City Region Development Plan. Building a comprehensive evidence base through the annual Merseyside Economic Review publication. Delivering the Mersey Waterfront Regional Park Succession Programme (2007-10).

Investment - bringing new business investment into Merseyside and encouraging growth in existing businesses.

Tourism - The official Tourist Board for Merseyside, promoting tourism assets to increase visitor numbers and grow the economic benefit to our area.
