Average adjusters are expert in the law and practice of marine insurance and general average; they provide a professional and independent view on the claims arising from marine casualties.
The Association of Average Adjusters was founded in 1869. The Association promotes and upholds professional standards of average adjusting, ensuring consistent levels of expertise and integrity; providing a distinctive insight and perspective on the markets it serves, and acting as an international hub for practitioners outside the ranks of its members.
Fellows of the Association have demonstrated their expertise by rigorous examination. In addition, a growing number of professionals take the Associate exam, not only a stepping stone to becoming a Fellow, but also valuable in its own right as demonstrating an enhanced knowledge of maritime and insurance practice.
By virtue of its role, the Association of Average Adjusters is able to provide a distinctive insight and perspective on the markets it serves, and acts as an international hub for practitioners outside the ranks of its members.
