A new clauses database for the London insurance market has been launched by the International Underwriting Association. The eLibrary contains all model clauses published by the association and are freely available to access and download.
The website now also has an enhanced search functionality that allows visitors to identify keywords both within the title of particular document and throughout its content. Over 900 clauses are currently available at the site which will be updated with every new model publication issued by the IUA.
IUA chief executive Dave Matcham said: “The publication of model clauses is a key service for the London Market. Whilst their use is entirely voluntary, they provide a useful template which can be amended and adapted by negotiating parties as required. Many are in regular use across our sector and more are being added all the time as new coverage questions and clarifications arise.”
The IUA’s model clauses are grouped into three main categories: aviation, marine and property and casualty. Each category is further divided into more specific line of business classifications. The repository also allows for clauses to be searched and sorted by year of publication. It is available at both www.iuaclauses.co.uk and via the Clauses tab at the IUA’s main website www.iua.co.uk.
