Miller, a leading independent specialist (re)insurance broker, is pleased to announce the appointment of Sailesh Divakaram as Head of Treaty Asia.
With a career spanning more than thirty years across broking, underwriting and risk management, Sailesh brings extensive relationships and a deep understanding of the Asian re/insurance market. Before joining Miller, he worked for eight years at Gallagher Re as an Executive Director, responsible for the buildout of its Treaty business in Asia, and also served in the Treaty division at Guy Carpenter.
Sailesh will be based in Miller’s Singapore office and reports to Richard Broad, Head of Treaty (Asia Pacific). Together, they will drive the continued growth of Miller’s regional Treaty capability as a core pillar of the broker’s global reinsurance platform, with Sailesh responsible for developing the team serving a rapidly expanding Miller client base in Asia.
Sailesh’s appointment follows a pivotal year for both Miller’s Asia buildout and global reinsurance capabilities, with milestones in 2025 including Miller’s acquisition of AHJ and the launch of Miller Korea.
Sailesh joined the business on 2nd February.
Richard Broad, Head of Treaty (Asia Pacific) at Miller, commented: “The Asian Treaty market represents a significant growth opportunity for Miller as we continue to build out our global reinsurance capabilities. Sailesh’s appointment reflects Miller’s long-term commitment to the market and our continued investment in the industry’s leading talent. As Sailesh grows and develops our Treaty proposition in Asia, we are excited to bring our leading broking and analytics services to a wider pool of clients, combining the scale and infrastructure of our single global reinsurance platform with the deep Asian market expertise of our dedicated regional team.”
Sailesh Divakaram added: “I am thrilled to have joined Miller and can’t wait to deliver the Miller proposition to our rapidly growing Treaty client base in Asia. To work for a genuine alternative broker with such an experienced team was a hugely attractive opportunity, and I’m excited by our potential to meaningfully enhance the regional Treaty market with Miller’s global reinsurance capabilities.”
