Lombard backs Polaris Autoliners fleet expansion with 33.2 million refinancing deal

Part of the wider Polaris Group, the business provides automotive shipping and logistics services worldwide

Posted on: 25 September 2026

Lombard, which is part of NatWest Group, has provided a $33.2 million financing facility to Polaris Autoliners. Part of the wider Polaris Group, the business provides automotive shipping and logistics services worldwide.

The deal will support the business as it continues to invest in growth and expand its fleet.

The structured facility refinances Polaris Star and Polaris Oslo, two modern, fuel-efficient Pure Car and Truck Carriers. The vessels transport finished vehicles, trucks, machinery and other cargo across established UK and European routes. They are primarily deployed on contracts supporting major car manufacturers including Ford Motor Company, transporting vehicles and components into Dagenham.

The transaction highlights Lombard’s ability to provide specialist asset finance solutions to growing businesses operating in complex sectors, while supporting the commercial mid-market companies that play a vital role in driving growth across the UK – a key pillar of NatWest’s Growing Together campaign.

Nathan Sikorski, Relationship Director, Specialist Sectors, NatWest/Lombard said:

“Businesses like Polaris Autoliners keep goods moving, support jobs and help power economic growth. We’re proud to be backing the business as it invests in its future and expands its fleet. This deal shows the role specialist finance can play in helping ambitious mid-market businesses seize opportunities and grow with confidence. We look forward to supporting Polaris as it continues its growth journey.”

Lawrence House, Relationship Director, Corporate Banking, NatWest, said:

“We’re proud to be supporting Polaris Autoliners at an important stage in its growth journey. Shipping is a critical enabler of trade, investment and economic prosperity, connecting UK businesses with markets around the world and keeping essential supply chains moving. This financing reflects both the strength of the Polaris business and our confidence in the opportunities ahead for the sector. By refinancing two modern, fuel-efficient vessels, we’re helping the business invest in capacity, resilience and long-term growth.”

Marius Tuft, Chief Executive Officer, Polaris Autoliners, said:

“This refinancing marks an important step in our growth plans and gives us a strong platform for the future. As we continue to expand our fleet and support customers across key markets, having the right financial partner is essential. Lombard understood our business and our ambitions from the outset. Their expertise and collaborative approach helped deliver a solution that supports our long-term strategy, and we look forward to building on the relationship in the years ahead.”
