Gibraltar Port Authority (GPA) introduces new initiative on its Eastern Anchorage

Posted on: 31 August 2015

As part of its ongoing campaign to further improve efficiency and access to the wide range of marine services on offer at Gibraltar, the Gibraltar Port Authority (GPA) has introduced a new initiative on its Eastern Anchorage.   For the rest of 2015, vessels wishing to remain at the anchorage for several days or weeks awaiting orders, carrying out crew changes, taking on stores and provisions or doing routine maintenance work will be eligible for a highly attractive daily fee of £100.  Commodore Bob Sanguinetti, CEO of the GPA and Captain of the Port said ‘this builds on the tariffs introduced in summer 2014 which were aimed at vessels remaining at the anchorage for less than 48 hours.  Having consulted with our local and international partners, we believe that this latest initiative will add to the attraction of Gibraltar as a key maritime hub, particularly for ships requiring an anchorage for longer periods.
