Maritime London AGM appoints two new Board Directors

Maritime London held its Annual General Meeting at the Baltic Exchange on Monday 18th January when two new directors were appointed to the Board.

Mark Lloyd representing the Admiralty Solicitors Group (ASG), where he is secretary. They represent 22 of the leading maritime law firms in the UK. He is partner at Waltons & Morse LLP and a member of various other industry bodies, including LMAA, the Association of Average Adjusters, BMLA and BILA.

Rodney Lenthall brings P&I insurance experience to the Board as non-executive, and past, chairman of the Shipowners P&I Association (Luxemburg). A former mariner with a very strong interest in maritime education, he previously served with Shell, was on the Board of the PLA and is a trustee of the London Nautical School.

On behalf of the Board and members, the meeting’s chairman Harry Theochari of Norton Rose Fulbright thanked the two outgoing directors – Professor John Millican of Southampton Solent University and James Wilson, former Partner of Ince & Co – for their contribution and support of Maritime London over the years.

Chief Executive Doug Barrow gave a detailed account of Maritime London’s achievements during the past year and outlined the plans for 2016 which will be circulated to members shortly. He said: “It has been a huge pleasure and honour to work with John and James over the years. They have both contributed significantly in different ways and I know we will continue to have their support. I look forward to working with Mark and Rodney who bring significant skills to the Board”.

The AGM was followed by a networking lunch hosted by the Baltic Exchange, which offered an excellent opportunity to exchange views and ideas in an informal atmosphere.
