Shipowners’ Club issues infographic aid on EU Ship Recycling Regulation

Posted on: 18 February 2020

The EU Ship Recycling Regulation comes into effect from 31 December 2020. The new regulation aims to reduce the negative impact of ship recycling on both the environment and the health of workers. This is to be achieved through the prohibition and restriction of the installation of hazardous materials on ships, with existing hazardous materials being listed in a dedicated inventory.

The Club has produced an interactive infographic which includes information on who the regulation applies to, what should be included in an inventory of hazardous materials and how compliance will be monitored.
